Although the Asanas appear to be self-explanatory in videos and book illustrations, it is strongly advised that the Asanas be learned under the supervision of a trained Guru. If performed incorrectly, the postures can cause major injury to the body. When attempting the pose, one must be conscious of one's body's indications. It should not be forced if the position is challenging.
